Featured designer: Adie + George

Just got home from NOW Showcase a bit tired, but so impressed with the talented people around me! I'll be writing more later about several more designers I showed with there, but one line was so incredibly original and exquisitely executed that I had to dedicate an entire post to them: Adie + George, by fashion designer Casey Larkin Blond and textile artist/natural dyer extraordinaire Sasha Duerr Fossel.

The duo's FW11 knitwear collection is a sublime mix of geometric-patterned intarsia knits, subtle pastel dip-dyes, colorblocking, and chunkier waffle knits, mixing the sophistication of Casey's new home in Copenhagen with Sasha's incredible dyeing skills. The soft alpaca pieces are knitted in Los Angeles and then dyed with local, seasonal ingredients from Sasha's Northern California home, including weeds and avocado pits.

If ever there was a line that looked like the future of eco-fashion, this is it: gorgeously designed, reasonably priced, and simultaneously ultra-local and international. More pics after the jump!

Casey and Sasha, holding her incredibly calm baby Bergamot. The dress Sasha's wearing? I'm getting that.

Gorgeous dip-dyed cardigan-coat and an adorable black pant with knitted suspenders. Very Sonia Rykiel.

Sweater with a cutaway back, much like my FW11 Cutaway Jacket. Want.

Splotchy goodness. For anyone interested in learning Sasha's techniques, she teaches at my alma mater CCA, and has a new book out I'm dy(e)ing to read.
